I've read about the On-Campus Apartment Housing Sign-Up process and marked my calendar to participate on the appropriate days.

Creating a Group online is a simple; instructions are clear cut and easy to follow. Designate a Group Captain who will represent your group; this is the person who will be able to participate in the online apartment or housing sign-up process, and who make the decisions regarding your group's assignment. Remember, your group captain DOES NOT need to be the person with the best priority number, rather it should be the person whom all members of the group trust to act reliably.

Remember, during the full-group sign-up pool, your group is only eligible for an apartment size that matches the size of the group. For example, if you have formed a four-person group, your group would be eligible for only four person apartments at Woodside (age restrictions) or Gables. Priority is given to groups that fill an apartment completely.

If you have a group of residence hall students who do not fill an apartment, your group may be able to assign themselves partially to an apartment if there are any available or any that remain partially filled during that sign-up time (see below). The rules of partially filling an apartment are this:

  1. co-ed apartments are not permitted for partial groups
  2. only one partial apartment per gender per complex building can be "in play" at a time. This means if a partial apartment is already available that fits your group size and gender, your group must take that space, a new partial apartment cannot be created.
  3. when assigning bedroom spaces, the group captain must consolidate the assignments. For example, for a group of three students who are seeking to partially fill a six person apartment (three double bedroom apartment), the group captain must assign the group to a double room and one space in another double room; one person cannot be assigned to each bedroom.

On the date indicated below your group will participate in the online Apartment Sign-Up process based on your group's size and desired apartment location. Your group captain will be able to preview how many apartments are available that match your group's size before the actual selection process.

Your group's specific time to enter the sign up pool will be available to the Group Captain withing 24 hours after forming the group. The group sign-up time is based on that lowest priority number of any group member. For example, if you have a four person group with the numbers: 856, 1042, 2852 and 51, the group's priority number will be 51.

Prior to your sign-up time, your group captain will be able to preview which apartments are available that match your group's size before the actual selection process.

At your group's sign-up time, your group captain will enter the sign-up process and select from available apartments. Depending on what is available at your sign-up time, your group may or may not be able to select an apartment. If your group doesn't get an apartment, you may reconfigure your group immediately and try for a different style/size apartment.

If your group isn't able to select an apartment and doesn't wish to regroup to try for a different size apartment, the group can be reconfigured or disbanded so that the individuals can participate during their In-Hall process or reform a new group to participate in the Between-Hall Online Sign-Up process. You chose one of these as a backup plan when you completed the housing reapplication.
