What did you choose to become a Hall Director?
I chose to pursue a Hall Director position because I had several wonderful mentors throughout my own college experience that changed my life and were instrumental in me reaching my goals as a student. I believe the RHD position gives me the opportunity to pay it forward, get to know future generations of awesome students, and assist UNH students in reaching the goals that bring them on campus. Another reason that as a high energy and adventurous person the spirit of a college campus for me cannot be beat!
Why did you choose to work for Res Life at the University of New Hampshire?
I am very impressed by the focus that UNH has on the individual student experience and building connections between staff and students. I want to get to know students and be a positive part of their on campus experience and UNH offers an environment in which to do that! Also, as a life long resident of the western part of the country I am completely pumped to explore the seacoast area and hike some NH mountains. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for good New England adventure destinations!
What advice would you give to students?
The primary advice I would give to UNH students is to be kind and open to those around you. Never underestimate the potential you have to make a positive impact on our university community. Likewise be kind to yourself, allow yourself to try something new or make a misstep, and know that it’s okay to take advantage of the resources and support available at UNH. We are glad you are here-Go Wildcats!
