Why did you become a hall director?:

When I was a student in Texas I LOVED living in the halls because I knew everyone and there was always someone around to help with homework or have a conversation with. I also loved the convenience of living on campus. I always wanted to be a teacher but I wanted to work with college students. After working with residence life in my graduate program I fell in love with being a Hall Director! I truly enjoy getting to know everyone and working with them on a one-on-one basis to help people get where they want to go. Being a Hall Director enables me to help people in academics, personal, and career choices and I love knowing that someone walks out of my office better off than when they entered.

Why did you choose UNH?

I absolutely love that I will be living in the Northeast in New Hampshire! I love to travel and I love to meet new people. The University of New Hampshire allows me be in a beautiful setting while pursuing my passions!

Advice for students...

I would have to say that my biggest piece of advice is stress management. So many students are scared of college, choosing a major, and the eventual graduation. Pushing oneself is an amazing thing because it can show you how much you can grow and learn about yourself but be aware of how much you can handle and make sure that you are not burning yourself out. Along with this is to understand what your stressors are so you can learn how to manage stress properly. One other thing I think is important is to make sure that you surround yourself with positive support. This can be your Resident Assistant, friends you make in your classes or organizations or your Hall Director. When you fall on stressful time, make sure that you have a positive influence where you can go to for help.
