Why did you become a Hall Director?
I entered the world of Residential Life during my time as an undergrad and had absolutely no idea what I was getting into. My time as a Resident Assistant was extremely meaningful for me; I thrived off of building relationships and fostering a community with my students and knew I wanted to continue as a Hall Director after graduation. The past couple years as a HD have only exceeded my expectations as I dug deeper into my passion for impacting the residence hall experience and the infinite learning opportunities that experience provides. Each daybrings an opportunity for us to discover something new, and I love being a part of that process with my staff and students
Why do you choose UNH?
After visiting campus for the first time, I knew this would be a great fit for me. I mean, what is there not to love about UNH? The people are genuinely passionate about students and meeting each students’ individual needs, large campus resources with small campus communities, and the commitment to having fun while continuously pushing ourselves to be our best. Plus, what a cool area New Hampshire is to live!
Advice for first-year students...
My grandfather is known for saying “if you can’t have any fun, you might as well stay home.” And even though UNH is our home, his catchphrase is still applicable. Take advantage of the time you have here and immerse yourself in the experience - try new things, meet new people, soak it up to the fullest extent and have some fun!
