Download Application

Babcock Community Assistants (CAs) are live-in resources for residents of the hall.  CAs work with approximately 180 graduate and undergraduate residents, which require them to be sensitive to the needs, values and lifestyles of many different types of people.  The position requires high levels of self-confidence, openness and strength of character.

The Babcock Hall staff is made up of three CAs and a supervising Part-Time Manager.  As a staff, the CAs help to set the climate for the hall and work to create a comfortable and safe community for residents.  CAs are required to complete administrative tasks, work at the Babcock mail desk and provide students with information regarding university resources and upcoming events.

This is a “live-in” position beginning with pre-fall semester training through spring graduation, including vacation periods, August 15, 2008 – May 25, 2009 inclusively. There may be an opportunity to start working at Babcock in the summer, please tell us if you are planning on taking summer classes. During the academic year, CAs are expected to work approximately 20 hours per week.  These hours are made up of time spent working at the mail desk, creating community, planning events, attending meetings, and enforcing regulations. Adjustments may be made to accommodate academic commitments, with prior approval.
