“There was always someone to talk to…”
Lisa W - senoir from Algonquin, IL
“My first thoughts when I saw that I was assigned to a built-up triple were that it was going to be very crowded and I would have little space for my stuff, but living in a built-up triple wasn’t bad
at all. It really wasn't any different from a double; we all had our own space and room to move. Once we found a good layout our room actually seemed really big. And especially as a freshman it was nice having two other people to get to know right away and hang out with.
Being in a built-up triple was different than I expected because I pictured all three of us always in the room together with no time to ourselves and everyone's stuff everywhere. My roommates and I did a really good job about making sure everyone had enough room and keeping our stuff to our own side of the room. Between everyone's different schedules there were always times when you would have the room to yourself for some peace and quiet.
The best thing about living in a built-up triple was getting to know my roommates so well. I had two great friends right away and there was always someone to talk to. You have to take it and make the most of it. Think of it as an opportunity to meet new people and share an experience with them and the odds are you will enjoy yourself. “
