What To Bring...And What To Leave Behind

Our apartment bedrooms are furnished with a twin bed, a desk, desk chair, dresser, and closet. The living room furniture includes a sofa, two chairs, two end tables, a coffee table and lamps. Your kitchen will be equipped with a full-size refrigerator, oven and range, sink, cabinets, and a dining table with chairs. You will assume responsibility for these items and they will be yours for the length of your stay. You will need to provide the following items:

Microwave Ovens

Microwaves rated with a power output of 800 watts or less are allowed in the apartments.

Mailing Information

Residents of The Gables, Woodside Apartments, Forest Park Apartments and Babcock Hall receive their mail in their respective areas, and will receive their mailing information at check-in.

Telephone Charges and Hook-Ups

All apartments have individual phone lines. Woodside apartments have two numbers per apartment, while The Gables have three; residents must provide their own telephones. Telecommunications will bill you for your phone line connection on a per semester per student basis, and the cost will be included as part of your semester tuition billing. The charge is $55.00 per student per semester. In August, you will receive a letter from Telecom providing you with your Personal Authorization Code as well as any terms and conditions for use. Your Authorization Code will allow you to make off-campus and long distance calls. Telecom will keep your Authorization code active on a year-round basis until you notify them that you are graduating or leaving UNH. Your phone line will be activated before you arrive on campus and will remain active without any interruption in service throughout the year. Your voicemail, a built-in answering service, will be included in your basic phone service fee.

Internet Connections

All aparments have high-speed internet access via the Campus Residential Network (ResNet). For more information on direct computer connections (and specific computer requirements, call the CIS Help Desk at (603) 862-4242 or check out their website.
