Caelie Kern, REAP 2013 Caelie grew up in a small New Hampshire town, and her passion has always been in the sciences. She used to play at being a doctor when she was a child; Caelie now plans to attend Medical School to become a neurosurgeon, or achieve her M.D. and Ph.D. to become a medical researcher. Below, Caelie speaks about the research she will be conducing for her summer REAP project: For my REAP Project, I will be working with human cancer cells to determine the molecular motor that translocates a cell death-inducing protein, p53, to the nucleus to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death. |
