Joseph Juknievich, REAP 2013

Joseph is a first-year Pre-Law U.S. History major at University of New Hampshire from Nashua, NH. Below, Joe discusses his REAP project:

At the start of this project, I will assist Professor Lucy Salyer with her upcoming book, tentatively entitled Erin's Hope: Irish American Fenians and the Forgotten Right of Expatriation, about the rights of immigrants naturalized in the United States when facing criminal charges abroad in the United Kingdom during the 1860s. Towards the end of the project, I will lay the framework for my own research project about the Palmer Raids in 1920 and how their unwarranted search and seizure of Eastern European immigrants specifically affected the state of New Hampshire.
