Alumni Information

Dear Friends of the University Honors Program,

Please join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of UNH students at the Undergraduate Research Conference! We’d like to be hosts to you (and a guest, if you wish) at a dinner, and afterwards, at the conference keynote lecture:

"A Faustian Bargain—Yet Grounded in Science," UNH Nobel Laureate Dr. Berrien Moore

The talk is Wednesday, April 23rd at 7:30pm, in the Memorial Union Building. Dinner will be at 5:30 PM in the Huddleston Ballroom in Huddleston Hall. In special attendance will be Bob Mennel, the former director of the Honors Program, and his wife Susan, and Donna Brown, the director of the Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research. I know they are looking forward to seeing former students and long-time friends. We’ll also enjoy introducing you to some of our current undergraduates who will be attending the festivities. Chris, Lee, Joanne and I would love to see you and have the opportunity to renew friendships and acquaintances. We do hope you’ll be able to come.

Please RSVP (and include the name of your guest, if applicable) no later than April 7th, to Lee Calderone at honors.program@unh.edu.

Consider this a preview for our 25th Anniversary weekend in April 2009! We would like to invite you all to join us on an Alumni Steering Committee to help with the planning for that event. We’ll be trying to reach all of you by phone or e-mail over the next few months to talk further about this exciting time in the Program’s history. Please let us know if you’d like to help, and how we should celebrate. We welcome your suggestions!

Please let us know if we can give you any information about the event or the Honors Program. In the meantime, we’ll hope to see you on April 23rd.

Best Wishes,

Lisa MacFarlane
