It's that time of the year again... gather your family & friends and come enjoy an evening of fun at the University of New Hampshire’s annual Holiday Skating Party with a special invitation to the greater Durham community. Head down to the Whittemore Arena’s Towse Ice Rink for hours of skating. The concourse will feature several activities inspired by traditions from around New England.

Be sure to stop by the silent auction we have planned for you this year located right on the concourse for your convenience.

Activities:

 

Maine -Lobster Puppets:
Make a stop in Maine and design your very own lobster hand puppet! Experience the life of a Maine fisherman as you make quite the catch! But don’t worry these pinchers are only made of paper!

 

Vermont - Leaf Headband:
Make a stop in Vermont for some festive fall leaf headbands! Decorate leaf cut outs and stick on colorful foam pieces to make a one of a kind headband that shows off some of Vermont’s famous leaves!

 

Massachusetts - Football Toss:
Be like Tom Brady and come participate in a New England Patriots themed football toss in the state of Massachusetts!

 

New Hampshire - Pin the Old Man on the Mountain:
Come help New Hampshire "rebuild" the Old Man of the Mountain!

 

Connecticut - Lollipop:
Stop by Connecticut, also known as the lollipop state, where you can use tissue paper and popsicle sticks to create your own colorful keepsake.  

 

Rhode Island - Boat Race:
Come to Rhode Island decorate a styrofoam sail boat and get ready to race your boat against a friend! Similar to a “rain gutter regatta,” two rain gutters will be set up side by side and filled with water where boats will float from one end to the other. Whichever boat reaches the finish line first wins!

 

New England - Trivia:
Think you know New England? Learn State trivia throughout your visit and test your skills. Spin the game wheel to see your question!

 

Picture Frames:
Don’t forget to create a Holiday themed picture frame using buttons, stickers, jewels and more! Your masterpiece will be a perfect place to put your holiday photo

 

Face Painting:
Visit our face painting booth and choose a fun design to be painted on your face!

 

Doughnut Dangle:
Swirling, twirling, and whirling. Bite the doughnut hanging from the string with only your mouth! Take a break and try to catch a tasty treat!
