Nymphaea belophylla Trickett

A rare and poorly known species, this population of N. belophylla was encountered at Laguna Cáceres in the Bolivian Pantanal.

Nymphaea oxypetala Planchon

This species is distinctive in that almost all of its leaves are completely submerged.
N. oxypetala is known from only a handful of sites; the population presented here constitutes the first record for Boliva. Since encountering this population in 1996, we have discovered two more populations of N. oxypetala in the Bolivian portion of the Grand Pantanal.
