How to Recover from Phishing:
If you replied to a phishing E-mail with any sort of personal information, time is of the essence. Please visit the Federal Trade Commission’s Identity Theft site at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/. Please also visit the Identity Theft Resource Center at http://www.idtheftcenter.org/.
If you gave out a username and password:
- CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS
- CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS!

CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS!!!
- Additionally, make sure to change passwords on any systems that use the same password as the one leaked.
- Do not base your new password on the old password. Start fresh!
- Contact the company/group that owns your account and ask them for advice on protecting your account and identity.
- Call the UNH IT Help Desk at 603-862-4242 for advice.
- Report the phishing attempt, whether or not you replied to the E-mail.
