A mental health emergency is an emotional or behavioral crisis that warrants same day attention by a mental health professional. This may include, but is not limited to, significant changes in behavior that are not characteristic of a person, the presence of disruptive symptoms that interfere with the responsibilities of daily living, direct or indirect expressions of the intent to harm self or others, and/or the experience of a trauma. The Counseling Center provides services during open UNHCC hours (M-F 8 AM to 5 PM academic year; T-Th 8-5 during summer) for students who self-identify as being in crisis; services available after hours 24/7/365 via phone at 603-862-2090

How To Access:

If you are feeling that you are a danger to yourself or others, visit the Counseling Center in Smith Hall immdiately, or call 862-2090 or call 1-800-735-2064 for Relay NH. If the Counseling Center is closed, call 1-800-273-8255, 911  or go to the nearest emergency room.
