A program created by the National Cancer Insitute, Smokefree.gov offers short and long-term tools and resources to help individuals understand the risks of tobacco and how to help them quit. Smokefree.gov also offers a quitline; trained counselors who can text or talk over the phone about a wide arrange of tobacco and quitting topics.

StressEraser Program

The StressEraser is a small portable FDA regulated biofeedback device, about the size of a deck of cards, used by many people to mitigate stress by activating the relaxation response. Guiding the user through a series of simple breathing exercises, relaxation can occur within 15 minutes, calming the mind and relaxing the body. We invite you to join us as we explore ways to become free from chronic stress, relieve worry, and gain a greater ability to cultivate emotional well-being. This program is available to benefits eligible employees.

A working atmosphere that is cohesive and free of unnecessary tension goes a long way toward lowering stress levels and increasing productivity. Reaching this goal can be as simple as talking through internal changes, or it can require more in-depth team building. Harvard Pilgrim offers its members age 18 and older  a personalized, telephonic support program. All health coaches are registered nurses who have been certified in lifestyle management coaching, to help members make informed decisions about lifestyle management opportunities. Support focuses on:

The USNH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is run by APS Healthcare. They provide referrals, counseling, training sessions, and online resources on subjects such as parenting education, work-life balance, family issues, elder care, substance abuse issues, and difficult transitions.

Yoga

Free yoga classes are offered on Wednesdays and Fridays in the MUB from 12-1pm to students.
