Employee Assistance Program

The USNH Employee Assistance Program is run by APS Healthcare. They provide referrals, counseling, and online resources on subjects such as parenting education, work-life balance, family issues, elder care, substance abuse issues, and difficult transitions.

Disability Services for Students

Disability Services for Students provides services to students with documented disabilities to ensure that all University activities and programs are accessible. The office also promotes the development of student self-reliance and the personal independence necessary to succeed in a university climate. We seek to create a comprehensively accessible environment where students are viewed on a basis of ability, not disability.

Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling assists students in resolving issues causing emotional distress and, as such, interfere with personal goals and academic success. Sessions are free to students.

Group Counseling

Group counseling is an excellent way to get support, learn about yourself and your relationships with others, and to develop new skills. Many students have found that group counseling is effective. Groups are available for student veterans, anxiety and depression management, stress management, communication skills, and international students.

Mental Health Emergency Services

A mental health emergency is an emotional or behavioral crisis that warrants same day attention by a mental health professional. This may include, but is not limited to, significant changes in behavior that are not characteristic of a person, the presence of disruptive symptoms that interfere with the responsibilities of daily living, direct or indirect expressions of the intent to harm self or others, or the experience of a trauma. The Counseling Center provides emergency services 24 hours per day.

Mental Health Consultation & Outreach Services

The Counseling Center attempts to meet the emotional and mental health needs of the campus community by reaching out to those who may not seek counseling services. Our Consultation and Outreach activities include educational programs and classes, committee participation, and clinical consultation. Staff members are available to consult with faculty, staff, parents, or students who may be concerned about a student.
