Indoor Badminton Court

Hamel Recreation Center's third floor offers courts that can be used as badminton courts. The courts are available for use by students and Hamel Rec members.

Group Fitness Classes

Campus Recreation offers 45+ group classes per semester, including step, hi/lo, cycling, cardio boxing, Zumba (TM), strength training, interval training, Water fitness, and others. Most classes taught in Hamel Recreation Center's Studio 1. Classes are open to students and members of Hamel Recreation Center. Guests must pay a fee of $10 facility guest fee and sign a waiver.

Community Sailing

The Community Sailing Program offered at Mendums Pond teaches people of all skills and age levels how to sail. It is offered in the spring, summer and fall and is open to the public. Prices vary per course and participation and UNH Faculty and Staff receive a 10% discount.

Camp Wildcat

Camp Wildcat is a summer day camp for children entering first grade through seventh grade. Campers have a chance to explore nature and the environment, participate in sports, learn new skills and crafts, make friends, and have fun while being active in the summer. Children entering 1st - 7th grade may attend Camp Wildcat.  If your child is entering 8th - 9th grade, please review our Wildcat Teen program.

Bouldering Wall

The UNH Bouldering wall is a 260 square foot climbing structure located in the Hamel Recreation Center. It was built in 2005 thanks to the generous support of the UNH Parents Association. Students and members of Hamel Recreation Center are welcome to use the wall free of charge. Climbing shoes are available for free at the recreation center's equipment window on the ground floor.

Athletic Training Department

Campus Recreation offers certified athletic trainers to help with your injury prevention and care needs. The certified athletic trainer is available for evaluation of injuries, rehabilitation for injuries, and consultations on how to manage injuries. Trainers provide coverage for high risk sports teams and provide clinical training for education program on campus. They work with Health Service Referrals, Intramural participants, open recreational patrons, and sports club athletes.

American Red Cross Swim Classes

Swimming lessons are available throughout the year for a fee, for both children and adults.

Employee Fitness Center

The UNH Employee Fitness Center is housed in the Field House overlooking the main gym floor on the UNH-Durham campus and is approximately 3,600 square feet in size.  A wide variety of state-of-the-art aerobic, strength, balance exercise training equipment is available. The Employee Fitness Center is open and free to all employees! During the academic year, the Center is open Monday through Friday from 6-8 a.m. and 11 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. During the summer, the Center is open M-W-F 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

UNH Employee Fitness Program

The UNH Employee Fitness Program (EFP) is housed in the Field House overlooking the main gym floor on the UNH-Durham campus and is approximately 3,600 square feet in size.  A wide variety of state-of-the-art aerobic, strength, balance exercise training equipment is available.  Graduate and Undergraduate Exercise Science students are actively engaged in this program under the guidance of a faculty member.  All EFP participants undergo extensive testing that culminates in an exercise prescription followed by personal training.
