About Health & Wellness

unh health & wellness main building

We are an integrated health and wellness service that operates from a holistic perspective. In support of the University's academic mission, we provide medical care, wellness education, and health promotion. We also work very closely with our colleagues in Psychological and Counseling Services (PACS) to coordinate care and services, and we have strong established relationships and service partnerships with associated campus resources to provide the best possible services to UNH students and the campus community.

We are here to serve the UNH community and encourage all students, faculty, and staff to visit our center and take advantage of all we have to offer. Please feel free to call our office at (603) 862-1098 if you have any additional questions.

Accreditation

Accredited by the Accreditation Association

In 2022, Health & Wellness was awarded national accreditation for the eighth consecutive time by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). AAAHC accreditation is specifically for organizations that provide medical or diagnostic services in settings where overnight stays are not required, including college health centers, group medical and dental practices and community health centers. Status as an accredited organization means Health & Wellness has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care, set by the AAAHC. The accreditation period is three years. Health & Wellness will undergo the accreditation process again in 2025.

Email health@unh.edu for more information about Health & Wellness’ accreditation.

What are they saying about us?

“UNH Health & Wellness was shown to provide outstanding medical services, as well as health education and promotion services, to the student and campus population during a recent re-accreditation survey. Two full days evaluating operations and a review of over 600 standards by an outside organization showed that the Health & Wellness team was setting the bar high to deliver care and services that are student/client focused and high quality.”
- Elizabeth Harrell, MSN, RNC, AAAHC Surveyor and U.S Air Force Colonel (Ret.)

“UNH [Health & Wellness] was among the finest healthcare organizations that I have surveyed, staffed by clinicians and clinical support staff of the highest caliber, and run by an administration that emphasized quality at every turn and that consistently put the needs and values of the patients it serves first.” And, “the Health Education and Promotion and Quality Improvement programs were examples of excellence within their respective disciplines, both coordinated and staffed by talented, motivated people.”
- David E. Newman, M.D., former director of the Hammond Health Center at Ithaca College and 2016 AAAHC surveyor for UNH
