Drug Take-Back Day

The easiest, safest way to dispose of medications is during Drug Take-Back Day. Drug Take-Back Day is a national program, offered once a semester in April and October, in coordination with our office, UNH Police Department and the DEA. This event offers individuals a safe, free and confidential way to dispose of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs. No questions asked!

Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including the home medicine cabinet. By eliminating these unused medications, we can reduce misuse, abuse, and accidental poisoning. But, it’s important to dispose of medications the right way. Do not flush medications down the toilet where they can contaminate groundwater and waterways.

To find out about upcoming Drug Take-Back Days, visit our Events, Workshops, and Classes page.
