About Health Services
What type of facility is Health Services?
Health Services is the on-campus health facility that is available for students. However, it is not an emergency room, and students are not able to stay over night as they can in a hospital. It provides medical care, wellness education and health promotion services.
Health Services is open everyday during the academic year as well as some hours during school breaks and the summer.
What types of services are offered at Health Services?
Health Services clinical staff can see you for evaluation and treatment of most common medical problems such as sore throats, rashes, warts, injuries, headaches, pain, etc., and for some chronic (ongoing) medical problems such as asthma and allergies, for immunizations and medical travel advice, for mental health concerns such as anxiety and depression, for physical exams, gynecologic exams and contraceptive advice and much more.
Health Services has pharmacy, laboratory and radiology departments within our building.
We also have an Office of Health Education and Promotion which provides counseling and support, massage therapy, yoga, meditation classes, and information and education on a variety of health topics, including a resource library with books, periodicals, audios and DVDs.
