The Health Services staff includes board certified physicians (internal medicine and family practice), family and adult nurse practitioners, nurses, laboratory and radiologic technologists, pharmacists, medical assistants, wellness educators/counselors, licensed massage therapists, nutritionists, alcohol, tobacco and other drug educators/counselors, and administrative staff.

  • Insurance and Payment
Services are available to current university employees on a fee-for-service basis, or in some cases covered through Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC) or through the employee's insurance carrier. For UNH employees who have HPHC Insurance or EBPA/CBA through the University, Health Services will be able to submit insurance claims for acute care visits.
  • Services for Acute Problems
Health Services can provide medical visits for acute problems (urgent, immediate care, but not emergency) for which it may be difficult or inconvenient for you to see your primary care provider.
    • - Examples of Acute Problems
Acute injuries such as lacerations, initial treatment of burns, and falls (e.g., on the ice) and acute infections such as conjunctivitis (pinkeye), urinary tract infection, and a severe sore throat.
    • - Services for Non-Acute Problems
Employees will be directed to their primary care provider to ensure continuity of care if they are seeking services for non-acute needs or more involved health issues that require extensive knowledge of their medical history.
  • Pre-employment Physicals and Worker’s Compensation Visits
Heath Services provides new employee pre-placement physicals and worker’s compensation evaluations.
  • Travel Immunizations
Immunizations needed/recommended for international travel are available through our Travel Clinic. Please schedule your travel consultation at least two (2) months before your departure to allow sufficient time for the immunization series.

The price is lower than most external providers. Check with your insurance company to see what services are covered.
  • Employment immunizations
Health Services provides immunizations required for employment at UNH.
  • Massage Therapy
50-minute massages with a licensed massage therapist are available for $45/traditional, $55/hot stone.
  • HIV Counseling and Testing
Health Services is a confidential test site. The price of the test is $23.
  • On-site Laboratory and Radiology (x-ray) departments and a limited Pharmacy. These services can be accessed by employees in conjunction with acute visits only.
  • Reflections for Mind, Body, Spirit Meditation CD: Health Services has created a guided meditation CD, that may be downloaded online.
  • Light Therapy for Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.): Light therapy lamps available by appointment for faculty and staff, at no charge.
  • Allergy Services
UNH staff and faculty members are eligible to receive routine allergy injections at Health Services. The fee may be covered by your health insurance plan, but it is important for you to check your insurance company about this in advance. UNH employees covered by the UNH Harvard Pilgrim Health Plan need referrals from their PCP’s for the fees to be covered. Once you have approval, please call 603-862-2844 to schedule an appointment. You must bring your orders and serum with you to the first visit.

*A UNH Employee’s coverage will depend on his/her health insurance plan. The employee is responsible for determining whether his/her insurance plan provides coverage for service. It is the responsibility of the employee to pay for any charges if not covered by insurance.

**Services are not available to faculty and staff on weekends and holidays and not all services are available during semester breaks and summers.
