How do you work to balance the different areas of your life?

"School work comes first for me, in terms of prioritizing, because I am self-supporting. I think that is my job here--to learn.

I am a runner. Just being healthy and trying to eat right and trying to balance. I had to keep friends around who are really patient about not being able to see me as much. I don't get to do a lot of social things as much as a lot of students I see around me. There's a lot of pressure to work and get things done. The way I do it is by writing everything down. I really don't like to think that I have every moment of my life planned out, but at this point in my life it's just the only way I can get through it all."

What are the joys and challenges of being a woman?

"The joys are the communities of women I found... and the understanding and strength in coming together as women."

What hopes and dreams would you like to share with others?

"I hope that when I am dead and gone I can say to myself that I really helped a lot of people. I hope to help children whether

I adopt them or have children of my own. I always want children in my life and I hope to always be helping the future in that way.

And my dreams are to find new creative ways to change things to make them better for other people who really need it.

I want to give back. I’ve experiences hardship in my life, but I wouldn't change it for one second because that's who I am, and because nobody let me fall through. It was all these people that helped me, and I think it would take me a lifetime just to repay all the kindness and generosity, and love and support that I've gotten through all of that trauma."

What makes you passionate about your life and work?

"I'm passionate about my life and work because I think it's a privilege to be here at school and working toward something. I am passionate about learning; I think that education is the best way to change the world and to make a difference. Where I am constantly learning from someone and they are constantly learning from me--that is what makes me passionate about being in school, working really hard, and wanting to balance it all."
