What is physical wellness?
Physical wellness is taking care of your body for optimal health and functioning.
What are some signs of physical wellness?
- Not smoking. Find out how you can stop smoking if you’ve already started. Talk with a counselor at Health Services.
- Exercising, incorporating flexibility, strength, conditioning and cardiovascular training. See UNH Campus Recreation site or try a free Yoga class offered through Health Services.
- Getting routine physicals on a yearly basis.
- Eating a balanced diet.
- Getting enough sleep, such as 8-10 hours per night.
- Limiting alcohol intake, 0-1 per day for women and 0-2 drinks per day for men.
- If you choose to be sexually active, engage in consensual, sober and safer sex
- Learning to manage stress before it manages you
