Personal Interests

is a proud to be the "f word" – feminist. She has marched on the mall in Washington DC to support women's rights to make informed choices about their sexuality and has done volunteer work with women centered organizations and groups in the community. A lot of her academic work has also focused on women. As an undergraduate, her senior thesis was on Black women in the Black Power Movement of the 1960s. She conducted a field study in Northern Ireland on Irish women political prisoners. And most recently, she is interested in feminist theory and women's ways of knowing. Dawn is also a believer in the healing benefits of expressive writing, reading of other's stories/autobiographies and the magic of synchronicity.

Dawn is originally from out west, Colorado and Montana to be exact - but now lives in Dover. In her free time she enjoys good food, laughing, sleeping, dancing, traveling, watching birds and being outside in the summer walking or kayaking. Dawn surrounds herself with people who are smart, witty, fun and supportive but she is also a self-proclaimed introvert and loves her alone time and personal space to read enthralling books, watch great movies and just be.

Just for Fun
