Pamela Kayden-Babish, MEDCC, LADC
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug Educator/Counselor
Education
The start of my journey as a counselor was at The Kansas City Art Institute with a focus on ceramics and photography - first feeling then seeing. My path continued at Keene State College with two years of psychologies and sciences. I detoured to marry and have children. As I became pregnant with my second daughter, I began my Masters in Education Counseling and Consultation, which I received in 1989 and I became a Licensed Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor license (LADC) in 1995.
Background
Learning who I was at the Kansas City Art Institute and how I put my own boundaries up or down led me to a place of freedom and choices. My first experience in the drug and alcohol field was at the Marathon House in Dublin, NH in 1989 (a one year long Therapeutic Community). I worked with adolescents, adults, families, and experiential programs for seven years. My path continued as a Drug and Alcohol / Behavior Specialist at the Bow School system. My last two years where spent at Southeastern NH Services in Dover, an inpatient intensive treatment program.
Approach
My approach is positive, direct, open, honest, and willing. I like to provide choices, solutions and creative outlooks.
Taking care of me
I love to cook and enjoy feeding people. Outdoor activities, biking, oceans, skiing are also high on my list of enjoyments. I also love talking with and seeing my daughters Lilly and Olivia, who both live in NYC and I enjoy my life with Wade, my partner in fun.
