A Transgender Path

The video A Transgender Path is an 18-minute educational film that addresses the life of Joelle Ruby Ryan. Joelle was once a UNH student and most recently, after completing her Masters degree, has taught Women's Studies, English 401. She also taught a course, for the first time at UNH, entitled Transgender Identity.

In A Transgender Path, we witness the life of Joelle Ruby Ryan through her own eyes. We learn about her childhood and upbringing, and what life has been like for her as a person who identifies as Trasngendered. We hear from educators and counselors who provide enlightenment for each of us about the nature and scope of Transgender identity. We also meet members of Joelle's support network and hear their story as it relates to hers. Ultimately, the video's content challenges us to reconsider what we think we know and have learned about gender.

The video may be borrowed for use. Call 862-3823 to reserve it.
