Does Health Services offer Emergency Contraception Pill?

Yes. Emergency Contraception Pill (ECP) is available without a prescription through the Health Services Pharmacy, most of the time. Some exceptions do apply. Call Women’s Health at (603) 862-1806 for more information. Or call the national EC hotline at (800) not-2-late.

What if I think I might be pregnant?

Pregnancy testing is available through Women’s Health by calling to make an appointment at (603) 862-1806. We advise that you refrain from sexual intercourse for 12-14 days prior to having the test.

How do I know if I have an STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection)?

STI’s are tricky. In general you want to look for S.I. G. N.S.:
S – Skin changes, like sores, bumps, or rashes
I – Irritation (or burning) when you urinate
G – Genital Itching
N – Noticeable pelvic pain (for women)
S – Sex organ discharge

STI’s most often fall into general categories – Bacterial, like Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis, which are treated with antibiotics; Viral, like Genital Warts or HPV, Herpes and HIV. Herpes and HIV are both treated with antivirals. The viral STIs are more difficult to manage though, and early treatment after exposure is best.
