No Weigh!
A group for college students who are tired of diets that don't work!
"You haven't failed diets, diets have failed you."
The media has permeated our culture with a “healthy thin ideal” body type that often leaves us struggling to know how to eat. Because food is so abundant in our society, we often find ourselves eating in the absence of hunger or overeating. At times we reach for the comfort of food to soothe uncomfortable emotions and at other times we may neglect to honor our bodies’ hunger signals. The No Weigh Group is intended for all college students who want to normalize their eating patterns and manage their weight sustainably without feeling guilty or living through another cycle of losing weight and regaining.
In this group, participants will...
- Engage with other students through discussion and experential activities
- Explore past eating behaviors and discover new ways to connect with eating
- Experience how being mindful and using mindfulness techniques can help to create a healthy relationship with food
- Acquire the confidence to self-regulate and balance chaotic eating patterns
Through experiential activities, meditation, mindfulness and education, this group will allow you to become an attuned eater. Attuned eating allows you to stop feeling preoccupied with food, weight, and eating, to relax around food, and to be conscious of your decisions to eat or not eat.
This group is created and facilitated by:
