  • SEASONAL FLU VACCINE CLINIC  Wednesday, October 5, 2011  Granite State Room, MUB 10:00a.m.- 5:00p.m.  Charges: $20/students and $25/faculty and staff (No fee for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC) subscribers who who show a vaild HPHC card.). Payment can be made by credit card (MasterCard/Visa), check, cash or CATS Cache. The cost of the vaccine is not covered by the Student Health Benefit Plan (SHBP).  Please allow 20 minute wait time after receiving the vaccine.

  • Good Eats Cooking Class Can’t Cook? Living Off Campus? Attend a FREE 4-week hands-on cooking class. All participants enjoy FREE food made by their own hands!   • Being Fierce and Fabulous You will have a chance to connect with other women in a safe and confidential environment and gain confidence in who you are on the inside and outside in this 8-week group for college women.   • LIVING WELL With Chronic Illness Support Group Do you have a chronic illness such as: IBD, asthma, diabetes, lupus, celiac disease or Crohn’s disease, depression? Learn to live healthy, connect with others, care for yourself and relax. Meets weekly, 9/26 -12/19, Mondays, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., Health Services Conference Room, 2nd Floor.   • Your Ultimate Mindful Eating Experience   This  Mindful Eating Group  will focus more on how to eat rather than what to eat or what not to eat,  Group discussions, Activities to practice mindfulness-based eating, Meditations on eating, hunger, cravings, and loving kindness.  Fridays beginning 10/7 – 11/18, 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon.   • Attracted to Addicts  This five week series will provide participants the opportunity to learn the reasons why people are attracted to addicts, addiction and addictive behaviors.  It will explore what sets the stage for these patterns and offer guidelines for finding a way out of this cycle through personal change. STUDENT INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

  • Actors and actresses needed! Inner Beauty: Love Your Body, Ease Your Mind, is looking for students to perform in our second annual production. These individuals grapple with issues of body-confidence, self-esteem, compulsive exercise, addiction, and disordered eating.  Volunteers for this play do NOT need experience in acting or theatre.  Just bring your enthusiasm and passion.  Contact: Suzanne.sonneborn@unh.edu
  • Recovery Mentors – A peer to peer support program which links trained students who are committed in their recovery and interested in providing individual support, information and appropriate referrals to UNH students who maybe struggling with alcohol, tobacco and other drug issue and/or concerns. Anyone interested should contact Melissa.nicholson@unh.edu or call 862-3823 for more information.
  • Become a S.A.F.E. (Substance Awareness through Functional Education) Peer Educator This peer education program directly supports prevention efforts across the UNH campus by participating in select, high visibility events like the first six weeks Initiative to educate Freshman about the risks of drinking, the Great American Smoke out in November, National Alcohol Awareness Month in April, MUB information tables and educational presentations at resident Halls, fraternities and sororities throughout the year. Peer education training and certification will be provided. This group meets on Fridays at noon. Anyone interested should contact Melissa.nicholson@unh.edu or call 862-3823 for more information.
  • Digital Storytelling WorkshopThe Office of Health Education and Promotion will offer their Digital Storytelling Workshop Series again this October (Time and day TBA). The series will provide participants with the opportunity to write and illustrate their personal journeys of resilience and recovery using multi-media software and their choice of photos, video, original art work, acting, movement etc. in a supportive and creative environment. A final multimedia piece will be completed by the end of the workshop series. Anyone interested should contact Melissa.nicholson@unh.edu or call 862-3823 for more information.
