| Need to talk? Eating Concerns and Body Image Group for Students
Starts September 18th Tuesdays 3:40 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. Room 302, MUB Open to UNH students only. |
Do you spend too much time... - Obsessing about food? - Counting calories and fat grams? - Working out? - Thinking about food? Have you ever thought of spending your time differently? The group is co-lead and facilitated by a student and a therapist from the Counseling Center. It aims to provide a place to share concerns and seek peer support regarding eating and body image issues. Students who have questions, need a safe place to discuss their struggles, and learn from and with others, are welcome. Each week various topics are discussed from self-esteem, assertive behavior, and decision making to self-care and knowing when to seek professional help. Students can drop in to see what it's about and hopefully return as regularly as possible. Regular attendance is not required but we have found that being a part of the group by committing to frequent participation is the best way to learn how to take action to change behaviors and get feedback from peers that can lead to the formation of healthier habits and life choices. Questions can be forwarded to the Counseling Center at 862-2090 or to Health Services Office of Education at 862-3823 |
