The Employee Clinic has the shingles vaccine (Zostavax), which many medical offices do not carry. The vaccine is recommended for use in people 60 years old or older to prevent shingles, which can be extremely painful. The vaccine is approved by the FDA for use in the 50-59 year old age group, however, the CDC does not specifically recommend use in this age group at this time.
You can make an appointment with a clinician for a clinical screening and vaccination or bring a prescription for the vaccine from your primary care provider. Call (603) 862-HLTH (4584).
