UNH Body Positivity Week is brought to you by the Eating Concerns Mentors, a Health Services Peer Education group.   


Body Monologues Performance & Art Show  Open call for artists and performers for the UNH Body Monologues

UNH students and staff create and perform stories of resiliency and self-love. These stories will inspire and educate the audience on the internal struggle with eating concerns and body image. There will be an art show before the performance for those who prefer to tell their stories through their artistic creations.

Ragen Chastain - Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Size Acceptance

Ragen Chastain is an internationally recognized thought leader in the fields of self-esteem, body image, Health at Every Size®, and corporate wellness.  She is a national dance champion and marathoner; she  co-founded the 4,000 member Fit Fatties Forum, and is currently training for her second marathon and her first IRONMAN Triathlon. Ragen blogs at danceswithfat.org and ironfat.com, and is the author of Fat:The Owners Manual.

In this dance class for people of all abilities and levels, we’ll learn fun choreography. We’ll practice not caring about getting everything right and moving our bodies just for the joy of it. $10 Campus Recreation entry fee for non-students/non-Campus Recreation members.

Intersections of body image, self-esteem, health and the LGBTQA+ community. An interactive talk that includes a critical look at the messages that we receive about ourselves, and options for changing the conversation for our best mental and physical health. 
Athletes at Every Size  
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Theatre II, MUB 
An inspirational and motivational talk bout finding and embracing your inner athlete at any size from a plus-size marathoner and soon-to-be Ironman and national  dance champion.
Sponsored by the Eating Concerns Mentors, a Health Services peer education group. Support provided by the Campus Recreation, Counseling Center, Memorial Union Building (MUB), Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA), Sexual Harassment & Rape Prevention Program (SHARPP), UNH POW (People Opposing Weightism) and the Women’s Studies Program.




The Mask You Live In - Film Screening & Discussion

The Mask You Live In follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity. Documentary followed by a discussion led by UNH students in the Eating Concerns Mentors program.


Operation Beautiful

The mission of Operation Beautiful is to post anonymous notes in public places for other people to find. The point is that WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL. You are enough... just the way you are.

The Body Project is a 6 week group for students that uses discussion and activities to  explore the pressures to be thin, body image in the media, and how to decrease body negativity and increase body confidence. UNH students create and perform stories of resiliency and self-love.
