Service Opportunities

The UNH leadership is constantly making decisions that impact the lives of graduate students. These decisions are made by various administrative committees and they need graduate student input. Volunteer to serve on one of the committees listed below and make a difference in the lives of your fellow students. For more information on any of these opportunities email us at grad.student.senate@unh.edu.

The GSS currently needs volunteers for the following positions:

Open senate seats: In order to represent all graduate students the GSS has senator positions for every college and housing unit at UNH. We currently need a Senator from Babcock Hall. Take this opportunity to gain leadership experience, to learn how a large public university operates, and to serve your fellow students.

Community Service subcommittee: The GSS Programming Committee is looking to initiate annual service events to benefit our local community. Anyone with an interest in organizing and participating in community service in New Hampshire is welcome. Help us help your favorite cause.

Campus Recreation Steering Committee: this committee will decide how best to meet the recreation needs of the campus community in the coming years. This could potentially involve an expansion of gymnasium and workout room space. You could help us ensure that this is done in a financially responsible way and that any new facilities benefit the entire UNH community.

GSS Meetings for Spring 2013

WE REPRESENT YOU! All of our meetings are open to the public, and we need to hear from you about any issues relating to graduate students at UNH. Attending a meeting will give you an idea of how the GSS operates and the issues we address. There is no pressure to volunteer and lunch is always provided at general meetings.

General meetings of the GSS are held every other Tuesday from 12:30 - 2:00 PM in the Memorial Union Building. The Executive Committee meets on Tuesdays between general meetings in our office in MUB 119E. Other committee meetings will be posted here as they are scheduled and will also appear on our calendar. See the schedule below or our google calendar for our meeting dates and locations for the semester.
