Faculty International Development Grants

Awards will take the form of expense reimbursements, contingent upon the receipt by the Center for International Education and Global Engagement of a report on the funded activities. For sample reports, visit the Faculty Travel Reports section. Grant money must be used during the time period of the award. Grantees unable to use the award during the time allotted should notify CIEGE as soon as possible, so the money may support another worthy faculty international endeavor. Grantees unable to use the award are encouraged to reapply to a future cycle, and their circumstances will be taken into account. Contact Director of Global Initiatives with any questions.


$1,500 International Development Grants


All 0.75 FTE or greater, benefits-eligible faculty will be considered for this grant.

Faculty International Development Grants provide funding for research, travel for conference presentations, international collaboration, and/or program development. Priority will be given to applications that support UNH’s international mission, such as activities that foster international collaboration, facilitate study abroad or international affairs dual major/minor initiatives, and/or research and teaching opportunities that promote internalization of UNH academic programs. Preference will be given to faculty members who have not received a Center for International Education and Global Engagement award in the previous four years.

Fall Semester Application
3 grants for travel between January 1 and June 30 of academic year
Deadline: November 29, 2016
Decision: Awards announced in mid-December

Spring Semester Application
2-3 grants for travel between July 1 and December 31 of academic year
Deadline: April 21, 2017
Decision: Awards announced in mid-May

3-4 Major Grants for International Development & Engagement ($2,500-$4,000)


All 0.75 FTE or greater, benefits-eligible faculty will be considered for this grant.

Major funding for faculty to initiate or expand their international teaching, research, or collaborations between July 1 and June 30 of academic year. Priority will be given to applications that support UNH international curriculum development, innovation or enrichment; and/or develop new institutional partnerships, collaborations or exchanges in furtherance of a department/college's international goals. Additionally, preference will be given to faculty members who have not received a Center for International Education and Global Engagement award in the previous four years.

Decision: Awards announced in mid-May.
