Webinar: Creating A Gender-Inclusive Campus

Although trans and gender-nonconforming people have become more visible on college campuses and in the media and popular culture over the last decade, many cisgender (non-transgender) student affairs professionals lack even a basic understanding of the lives of trans individuals and how to meet their needs through creating a more gender-inclusive campus. This Webinar will discuss the complex ways that students understand and express their gender today and the best practices and policies to support trans and gender- nonconforming students. Areas covered will include housing, facilities, health services, student activities, athletics, and admissions. For more info See attached flyer


2013 Kidder Fund Distinguished Lecture Series

April 16, 4:00-5:00pm, MUB Theater II

Keynote speaker, Erin Buzuvis, Director of the Center for Gender and Sexuality Studies at Western New England School of Law, will present her lecture “Transgender Inclusion in Athletics: From Policy to Practice.” 

The lecture will describe policies that various sport organizations, including the NCAA, have adopted for the purpose of determining the eligibility of transgender athletes to compete according to their gender identities, and will discuss policies that are as inclusive as possible under the circumstances particular to those organizations.

Prof Buzuvis, teaches Administrative Law, Employment Discrimination, Title IX, Torts and Property.  She is a co-founder and contributor to the Title IX Blog, an interdisciplinary resource for news, legal developments, commentary, and scholarship.  She is an alumnae of UNH and Cornell Law School.
