Thanks to our Child Study & Development Center, a laboratory school affiliated with the University’s Department of Human Development and Family Studies, UNH students interested in family studies, education, psychology, and numerous other disciplines can observe, document, and contribute to innovative child care and early childhood education. Serving children from infancy through kindergarten, the NAEYC-accredited CSDC is a proving ground for best practices and provides an important link between the University and surrounding communities. The Peter T. Paul Entrepreneurship Center (ECenter) is independent of any one college on campus. Institute on Disability

The Institute on Disability (IOD) was established to improve knowledge, policies, and practices affecting the lives of people with disabilities and their families. Founded at UNH in 1987, it is a federally designated center authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Act, and also serves as New Hampshire’s University Center for Excellence in Disability (UCED). Gifts to the IOD allow us to continue our advocacy work at the local, state, and national levels; to push ahead with key education, research, and service initiatives; and, ultimately, to create a more accessible, equitable society for all.

Originally a private, non-profit organization, Northeast Passage merged with UNH in 2000 to become the service branch of the Recreation Management and Policy Department. Guided by the philosophy of “universal design,” Northeast Passage seeks to create a barrier-free world for people with disabilities, with an emphasis on accessible health promotion and recreation.
