  • The government should balance its budget, instead of adding to the $7 trillion national debt that future generations will have to pay back.
  • It is wrong for the government to divide us by race, gender, class, religion or sexual orientation. Everyone deserves fair treatment under the law.

  • We should repeal President Bush's tax cut for millionaires so that we have money to protect ourselves from terrorism, improve our schools, and guarantee health insurance for everyone in America.
  • Towns and states should be making decisions about local and state issues like schools, not politicians in Washington D.C.

  • To get the economy running again, we need to create jobs, help small businesses and encourage international trade.
  • Women have the right to make their own decisions about their own bodies.

  • We can have economic growth and protect the environment, if we invest in renewable energy production, clean air and public transportation.
  • Americans deserve honesty and integrity from the men and women they elect, not lies or deception.

  • Parents and teachers know which kids are at risk for getting involved with crime, drugs and gangs as adults. Instead of simply building more prisons, let's use early intervention programs to help at-risk kids and stop crime before it starts.
  • The government belongs to all of us. We are not "unpatriotic" or "traitors" just because we disagree with the President.

  • President Bush has wrecked morale in the armed forces by cutting soldiers' benefits and trying to cut their pay. He's also taken health insurance away from thousands of American veterans. Our military does a tough job and they deserve better treatment.
  • America's current "might makes right" foreign policy has made us look bad in the eyes of the world. We need to undo this damage so that other countries see us as a friend and not as a threat.

  • Our campaign is about hope, not fear. Other campaigns may try to scare people to win votes, but we're going to stay positive and inclusive. Hope beats fear every time!
