The Graduate Business Club exists to “enhance the graduate business experience by providing opportunities for academic development, social activity, community service, and student-alumni interaction.” Formed in 2003, the organization has grown both in size and involvement with the Whittemore School and alumni. It is currently governed by an executive board made up of five graduate students from the Whittemore School who you can see by going to our Executive Board page.
History of the GBCThe Graduate Business Club was chartered in the spring of 2003 by members of the full-time MBA Class of 2004 to serve all graduate business students under the banner of its mission statement. Activities sponsored by the GBC in its first year helped establish both student and professional networks. Its agenda grew rapidly during the transition of control from the Class of 2004 to the full-time Class of 2005. Under the leadership of the Class of 2005, the status of the club was enhanced through additional formalization and exposure, which secured its position as a critical forum for graduate business education at the University of New Hampshire. The shift from a 2-year MBA program to a 1-year accelerated MBA program at the Whittemore School in 2005 marked a major turning point for the GBC. Led by the 1-year MBA Class of 2006, the GBC has expanded its membership to include students from other graduate programs at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics. |
