American Bar Association Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund
Description: The mission of the ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund is to encourage racial and ethnic minority students to apply to law school and to provide financial assistance to them. In addition to whether the applicant is a member of a racial and/or ethnic minority that has been underrepresented in the legal profession, the applicant's financial need; personal, family, and educational background; personal statement; and participation in community service activities will be considered.

UK Fulbright Summer Institutes
Description: These summer programmes provide the opportunity for US undergraduates (aged over 18), with at least two years of undergraduate study left to complete, to come to the UK on a three, four, five or six week academic and cultural summer programme. Multiple programs are offered, including a program at Shakespeare's Globe, on focused on archeology at Durham University, and an Irish Studies program at Queen's University in Belfast.

American Chemical Society Scholars Program
Description: ACS awards renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry-related fields. Awards of up to $5,000 are given to qualified students. African American, Hispanic, or American Indian high school seniors or college freshman, sophomores, or juniors pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences or chemical technology are eligible to apply.

Bridging Scholarship
Description: The American Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. Approximately 100 scholarships awarded annually to assist students with the travel and living expenses they will incur while studying abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year.
Deadline: April and November, annually
Value: $2,500 (for students on semester-long programs) or $4,000 (for students on academic year programs). Students studying in Japan on summer programs are not eligible to apply.
Eligibility: Undergraduate students in any field; Japanese language study is not a prerequisite; U.S. citizens enrolled as undergraduates in a college or university in the United States before and during the time they are studying abroad.

Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund
Description: Provides grants to students actively working for peace and justice. These need-based scholarships are awarded to those able to do academic work at the university level and who are apart of the progressive movement on the campus and in the community. Recent grantees have been active in the struggle against racism, sexism, homophobia, and other forms of oppression; building the movement for economic justice; and creating peace through international anti-imperialist solidarity.

Brower Youth Awards
Description: The Brower Youth Award recognizes individuals who display outstanding youth leadership in creating, organizing and implementing a project or campaign(s) that has benefited the environment and community in terms of measurable results (e.g. acres of wildlife habitat protected or restored, number of people engaged in environmental issues because of the project, numbers of children no longer exposed to toxins, etc.).Eligible projects should accomplish one or more of the following broad objectives:Aim to eliminate or decrease our use of finite natural resources and our negative impats on ecosystems and communities.Work to protect ecosystems, species, indigenous cultures and other irreplaceable elements of the world’s natural heritage.Strive to re-establish the healthy functions of an ecosystem; parts of ecosystems; and human communities that manage ecosystems.
