Samantha-Jo Virga, a junior economics major from Wasaga Beach, Ontario, has received a Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD) scholarship for language study in Germany this summer. The DAAD is the German national agency for the support of international academic cooperation; the DAAD offers a wide variety of scholarship opportunities for American and Canadian undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals.
About the DAAD University Summer Course scholarships: These scholarships offer funds to offset the cost of tuition, room and board; an international travel subsidy is also provided. Applicants must be pursuing full-time study at US colleges or universities. There are no restrictions as to field of study, but applicants must have attained at least sophomore standing at the time of application.
