University of New Hampshire sophomore Kevin McAleese of Nashua, NH is the recipient of a prestigious Critical Language Scholarship (CLS), which fully finances his study of beginning Azeri language for 8 weeks this summer in Baku, Azerbaijan at the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

Launched in 2004, the Critical Language Scholarships, which are a program of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, offer intensive overseas language study in thirteen languages deemed critical to U.S. national security.
