The American Scandinavian Foundation
The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers fellowships (up to $23,000) and grants (normally $5,000) to individuals to pursue research or study in one or more Scandinavian country for up to one year. The number of awards varies each year according to total funds available. Over $300,000 is available for the 2011-12 competition. Awards are made in all fields.

Blakemore Freeman Fellowship
Blakemore Freeman Fellowships fund a year of advanced language study abroad for college graduates using an East or Southeast Asian language in their careers.

British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association
Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year. The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.

DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service)
Offers various opportunities for undergraduates and graduates to study in Germany; open to all fields of study.

Dan David Prize Scholarships
The Dan David Prize laureates annually donate twenty scholarships of US$15,000 each to outstanding doctoral and post-doctoral students of exceptional promise in the chosen fields. The Dan David Prize recognizes and encourages innovative and interdisciplinary research that cuts across traditional boundaries and paradigms. It aims to foster universal values of excellence, creativity, justice, democracy and progress and to promote the scientific, technological and humanistic achievements that advance and improve our world. Ten scholarships are awarded to doctoral and post-doctoral students at universities throughout the world and ten scholarships at Tel Aviv University.

ERM Foundation-North America Sustainability Fellowship Program
The ERM Foundation Sustainability Fellowship supports entrepreneurial graduate students who want to implement their visions for a more sustainable world. In addition to a monetary stipend of up to $15,000 for the selected Sustainability Fellow, the top five Fellowship finalists will be given an opportunity to interview for a compensated internship position at one of ERM’s global offices.

EuroScholars
This program is especially designed for students who are interested in discovering their potential for a research career. EuroScholars offers unique opportunities to spend a semester as a junior researcher at one of the top European research institutions. Supervision will be provided by academic staff, working on and/or responsible for the Research Project. The curriculum will consist of the Research Project (main element), literature review (independent study), elective (if applicable), and a language and culture course at the host university. Each semester a central European Orientation Program (2-3 days) is organized for all students.

Ford Diversity
For graduate students pursuing doctoral degrees; aimed to increase ethnic and racial diversity within faculties and curricula.

Fulbright
Provides funding for research and study abroad to recent graduates. Must begin application spring semester.

Gates
For grads in any field to study at Cambridge in England; must be accepted to Cambridge in order to compete for the grant.

Gilman International Scholarship
The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.

Glamour Top 10 College Women
Glamour magazine invites you to apply for the 2012 Top 10 College Women Competition. The contest is open to any woman who will be a full-time junior at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada for the 2011-2012 academic year. Seeking dynamic young women with leadership experience, excellent grades and inspiring goals. One grand prize of $20,000 and nine $3,000 prizes will be awarded. All winners will receive a trip to New York City and recognition in Glamour.

Google Policy Fellowship
The Google Policy Fellowship program offers undergraduate, graduate, and law students interested in Internet and technology policy the opportunity to spend the summer contributing to the public dialogue on these issues, and exploring future academic and professional interests.

Institue of Current World Affaris Fellowship Program
The ICWA fellowship program aims to nurture deep expertise in foreign countries and cultures by supporting a Fellow who carries out a program of self-designed, independent study abroad for a minimum of two years. We do not support degree programs at universities. Candidates are encouraged to browse the ICWA archives on this website to see the kind of projects that the Institute had previously supported. For those with a BS or BA, or any Masters or PhD.

Inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies
Fellowships provide support for students who aspire to truly advanced competence in Chinese language, whether they be undergraduates, graduates, professionals, or established scholars.

Josephine de Karman Fellowship Trust
DeKarman fellowships are open to students in any discipline, including international students, who are currently enrolled in a university or college located within the United States. Special consideration will be given to applicants in the Humanities. A minimum of ten (10) fellowships, $22,000 for graduate students and $14,000 for undergraduate students, will be awarded for the regular academic year.

JW Saxe Memorial Fund
A prize of two thousand dollars will be awarded to one or more college or university students involved in public service. The award is meant to enable the student to gain practical experience in public service by taking a no-pay or low-pay job or internship during a summer or other term.

Marshall
Funds two years of post baccalaureate study in the United Kingdom. Must begin application spring semester.

Middlebury Language School: Kathryn Davis Fellowships for Peace
The Kathryn Davis Fellowships are being offered to cover the full cost of one summer of language study at the Middlebury Language Schools—from the beginner to the graduate level—in six languages, including Arabic. The fellowship covers the full comprehensive fee (tuition, room, and board), plus a stipend to assist in defraying program-related expenses.

Mitchell
One year of doctoral studies at a university in Ireland. Must begin application spring semester.

NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Program
The NCAA awards up to 174 postgraduate scholarships annually, 87 for men and 87 for women. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. The one-time grants of $7,500 each are awarded for fall sports, winter sports and spring sports. Each sports season (fall, winter and spring), there are 29 scholarships available for men and 29 scholarships available for women. The scholarships are one-time, non-renewable grants.

Pearson Prize for Higher Edcuation
The Pearson Prize supports students who have completed at least one year of college, have demonstrated leadership in community service, and are attending a two- or four- year school. Pearson Prize National Fellows (20) receive $10,000, paid over two years. Pearson Prize Community Fellows(50) receive $500, awarded in a single year.

Point Foundation
Provides funding for both graduate and undergraduate LGBT students in any field of study.

Rhodes
Two to three years of graduate level study at Oxford in England. Must begin application spring semester.

Rotary Foundation: Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships
The scholarship is provided for intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country for three or six months. Only Academic-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships are available for the 2010-11 program year.  Multi-Year and Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships, as well as Rotary Grants for University Teachers are no longer available. Contact local Rotary club for application deadline.

Saint Andrew's Society of the State of New York Scholarship for Graduate Study in Scotland
In recognition of the benefits of higher education, the Society provides significant funding for two Scottish graduate students to study in the United States and two Scottish-American students to study in Scotland.

Soros
For new Americans pursuing a doctoral degree in any field of study.

Talbots Scholarship Foundation
The Talbots Charitable Foundation is proud to offer its scholarship program to women pursuing a college degree later in life. Ten $15,000 and one $30,000 awards will be given.

ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship
ThinkSwiss offers 15 scholarships for a research stay in Switzerland. It supports highly motivated and qualified U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to do research at a public Swiss university or research institute for 2 to 3 months. The scholarship is open to students of all fields.

Udall Scholarship
Funding for undergrads who study the environment.

White House Fellowship Program
Founded in 1964, the White House Fellows program is one of America's most prestigious programs for leadership and public service. White House Fellowships offer exceptional young men and women first-hand experience working at the highest levels of the federal government. Selected individuals typically spend a year working as a full-time, paid Fellow to senior White House Staff, Cabinet Secretaries and other top-ranking government officials. Fellows also participate in an education program consisting of roundtable discussions with renowned leaders from the private and public sectors, and trips to study U.S. policy in action both domestically and internationally. Fellowships are awarded on a strictly non-partisan basis.

AFPE Fellowships
Fellowships available for those interested in graduate work in pharmaceutical sciences. Deadlines vary.

Critical Language Scholarships for Intensive Summer Institutes
The sponsor provides support for seven- to ten-week group-based intensive language instruction and extensive cultural enrichment experiences held overseas at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels (beginning not offered for Azerbaijani, Chinese, Persian or Russian) for U.S. citizen undergraduate, Masters and Ph.D. students.

Department of Energy Office of Science Graduate Fellowship Program
The Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science (SC) has established the DOE Office of Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE SCGF) program to provide support for outstanding students to pursue graduate degrees and research in areas of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computational sciences and environmental sciences relevant to the Office of Science, and to encourage the development of the next generation scientific and technical talent in the U.S. Fellows will receive a $35,000 yearly stipend for living expenses, $10,500 per year for tuition and fees and a $5,000 research stipend supplement for research materials and travel expenses. Fellows will be required to attend the annual DOE SCGF Research Conference to be held each summer at a DOE national laboratory. Travel expenses and accommodations to the Conference will be provided by the DOE SCGF program.

DHS Scholarship Program
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) realizes that the country’s strong science and technology community provides a critical advantage in the development and implementation of counter-terrorist measures and other DHS objectives. Scholarship offers full tuition plus stipend for undergraduates.

Environmental Protection Agency Greater Research Opportunities Fellowship for Environmental Study
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), National Center for Environmental Research (NCER), invites applications for the Greater Research Opportunities (GRO) Fellowships for undergraduate environmentally related study for bachelor’s level students. Subject to availability of funding, the Agency plans to award approximately 40 new fellowships by July 29, 2011. The fellowship provides up to $19,700 per year of academic support and $9,500 for internship support for a combined total of up to $48,900 over the life of the fellowship.

Environmental Protection Agency Science To Achieve Results (STAR) Fellowships For Graduate Environmental Study
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), as part of its Science to Achieve Results (STAR) program, is offering Graduate Fellowships for master's and doctoral level students in environmental fields of study. Subject to availability of funding, the Agency plans to award approximately 105 new fellowships by June 30, 2011.

Erasmus Mundus
The Erasmus Mundus European Masters Program in Language and Communication Technologies (LCT) offers education and training opportunities to students wishing to pursue a Masters Degree in the methods of language and communication technologies. Specifically, Language Technology, Computational and Theoretical Linguistics, and Computer Science.

GEM Fellowship
GEM's fellowship programs span the entire recruitment, retention, and professional development spectrum. GEM's principal activity is the provision of graduate fellowships at the MS and Ph.D. levels coupled with paid summer internships. GEM also offers informational sessions on the importance of graduate school and tools for access and successful matriculation. GEM also produces publications for graduate and undergraduate students, unviersity and industry administrators to assist in the education process of how to obtain a graduate STEM education. GEM is devoted to increasing access and success in engineering and science graduate education and practice.

Goldwater
Provides one or two years of funding for undergrads studying mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering. 

Hertz
For graduate studies in any area of applied science. Must begin application spring semester.

HSF/Marathon Oil Corporation College Scholarship Program
The HSF/Marathon Oil Corporation Scholarship Program is a scholarship of up to $15,000 per year. Selected students may receive up to $15,000 for two academic years for a possible total award of $30,000. Application open to minority students in their sophomore year. See website for specific disciplines.

Knowles Science Teaching Foundation: Teaching Fellowships
The KSTF Teaching Fellowship is for beginning high school science and math teachers as they earn a teaching credential and through the early years of their career. Applicants should: Have a degree in physical or biological science, mathematical science or engineering, be planning to teach science or mathematics in a U.S. high school, and be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, an approved teaching credential program.

Krell Institute
Offers up to four years of support for doctoral students pursuing degrees in fields of study that utilize high performance computing to solve complex problems in science and engineering.

The Leonore Annenberg Teaching Fellowship
The Leonore Annenberg Teaching Fellowship, the equivalent of a national “Rhodes Scholarship” for teaching, is one of three new Fellowships launched by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation to address fundamental challenges to improving the teacher workforce. Through the Fellowships, the Woodrow Wilson Foundation seeks to improve the rigor of new teacher selection; demonstrate what effective teacher preparation and retention looks like, particularly in high-need schools; and raise the prestige of the profession. The Fellowship provides a $30,000 stipend to exceptionally able candidates to complete a yearlong master’s program at one of four of the nation’s top teacher education programs—Stanford University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Virginia, and the University of Washington. In exchange, the candidates must agree to teach for three years in high-need secondary schools.

NAEP Jim Roberts Memorial Scholarship Fund
Will be awarded annually at the annual NAEP conference to a student currently enrolled in an environmental program at any accredited university or college in the United States, its territories or Canada. The applications are evaluated by the Scholarship Committee and one honoree receives an award between $500-$1000, depending on the available endowment. These awards can be used for education expenses including tuition and books.

NASA Graduate Student Researchers Program (GSRP)
The NASA Graduate Student Researchers Program (GSRP) is an Agency-wide fellowship program for graduate study leading to masters or doctoral degrees in the fields of science, mathematics, and engineering related to NASA research and development. In 2011, NASA is expanding GSRP to include students that are interested in becoming teachers or education administrators. This twelve month award requires students to participate in a 10 week NASA Center or HQ-based research experience at the NASA Center/HQ extending the GSRP Fellowship award.

NASA Motivating Undergraduates in Science and Technology (MUST)
The MUST Project is open to all students and is particularly focused on engaging students from underserved and underrepresented groups to enter STEM fields. Each year, the MUST Project will support approximately 100 undergraduate students with a one-year competitive scholarship of up to one-half of tuition, not to exceed $10,000. Students who maintain the required minimum grade point average will be eligible for a paid internship at a NASA center. Additionally, students will benefit year-round from tutoring, lecture series and mentoring from STEM faculty and peers.

NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP)
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP) offers undergraduates across the United States mentored internship experiences at NASA Centers and research support facilities. The NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program is NASA’s largest nationwide internship program.

National Network for Environmental Management Studies (NNEMS) Fellowship Program
Each year, the NNEMS program offers fellowships developed and sponsored by EPA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. and in EPA’s 10 regional offices and laboratories throughout the United States. The projects are specifically narrow in scope, allowing students to complete the fellowship while working full-time at EPA during the summer or part-time during the school year.

National Research Council of the National Academies
The mission of the NRC Research Associateship Programs (RAP) is to promote excellence in scientific and technological research conducted by the U. S. government through the administration of programs offering graduate, postdoctoral, and senior level research opportunities. In these programs, prospective applicants select a research project or projects from among the large group of opportunities listed on their website.

National Science Foundation: Graduate Research Fellowships
Funds three years of research for graduate students in all branches of the sciences, including engineering, computer and information sciences, psychology, chemistry, geoscience, physics, life science, astronomy, interdisciplinary research, and the social sciences.

National Science Foundation: Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship
For students interested in pursuing a graduate degree in the sciences, mathematics, engineering or technology. $30,000 stipend, plus tuition and fees.

National Space Club Goddard Memorial Scholarship
The National Space Club awards a $10,000 scholarship each year, in memory of Dr. Robert H. Goddard, America's rocket pioneer. The scholarship is presented at the Goddard Memorial Dinner each spring, for the following academic year. The award is given to stimulate the interest of talented students in the opportunity to advance scientific knowledge through space research and exploration.

NDSEG Fellowships
The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship is a highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of fifteen supported disciplines. NDSEG confers high honors upon its recipients, and allows them to attend whichever U.S. institution they choose. NDSEG Fellowships last for three years and pay for full tuition and all mandatory fees, a monthly stipend, and up to $1,000 a year in medical insurance.

Newton Fellowships from Math for America
Full tuition plus stipend for MAT work at Queens College, NYU or Columbia TC, then 4 years additional support and stipend while teaching math in NYC.

NIH/Oxford/Cambridge Scholars Program
Scholarships for Students Seeking PhD and MD/PhD Training in Biomedical Research

PhRMA Foundation Fellowships
Fellowships available for those interested in pharmaceutical sciences.

SMART Scholarship
The Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program has been established by the Department of Defense (DoD) to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The program aims to increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working at DoD laboratories.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women admitted to accredited baccalaureate or graduate programs, in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science.

Switzer
For graduate students in applied environmental studies attending a university in New England or California. 

UNCF Merck Science Initiative
The UNCF • Merck Science Initiative awards scholarships and fellowships at three levels:
UNCF • Merck Undergraduate Science Research Scholarship Awards are intended to help African American undergraduate students who are interested in science to further their science education and potentially pursue science and engineering careers. The UNCF • Merck awards provide tuition support and opportunities for research experience in a state-of-the-art research facility.
UNCF • Merck Graduate Science Research Dissertation Fellowships will help African American graduate students complete coursework, conduct research, and prepare the dissertation required for a doctoral degree in the biomedically relevant life or physical sciences and engineering.
UNCF • Merck Postdoctoral Science Research Fellowships are intended to provide support to African American post-graduate students to obtain postdoctoral training and to prepare for a career in biomedical research.

University of Pennsylvania/ NIH Advanced Immunology Scholars Program
A fully funded interdisciplinary curriculum designed to train outstanding and independent students in a combination of basic science and advanced research technologies to solve key research questions in the areas of immunology and infectious diseases.

Whitaker International Fellows and Scholars Program
The Whitaker International Fellows and Scholars Program sends emerging leaders in U.S. biomedical engineering (or bioengineering) to undertake a self-designed project that will enhance their own careers within the field. In the first four years of the Whitaker Program, 100 grants have been awarded to Fellows and Scholars to conduct projects in over 20 countries worldwide.

Willard B. Simmons Sr. Memorial Scholarship
All pharmacy students who are student members of NCPA are eligible to apply for ONE of the NCPA Foundation Scholarships per academic year. The student must be accredited U.S. school or college of pharmacy on a full-time basis during the academic term that the scholarship is awarded. This award in not available this year.

Woodrow Wilson's Indiana Fellowship
Woodrow Wilson’s Indiana Fellowship offers rigorous teaching preparation, extensive clinical experience, and ongoing mentoring, as well as a $30,000 stipend. These new Woodrow Wilson Fellows will be STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) scholars and experts—outstanding college juniors and seniors majoring in these fields, recent college graduates, and second-career professionals—interested in teaching in high-need secondary schools.



COLA Specific Scholarships

 

The American-Berlin and American-Turin Scholarships
The scholarship recipients will travel to Berlin and/or Turin to start his or her training with the Deutsche Oper Berlin or Teatro Regio Torino. The term of residence is typically 10 months from September through June, but can vary according to the respective schedules of the individual opera company. Each winner receives a full time contract with the opera house for the duration of their scholarship.

APA Scholarships for Psych students
The American Psychological Association offers a number of major awards in recognition of outstanding contributions in diverse areas of psychology including practice, research, teaching, and public service. Within the Society for Counseling Psychology, a special Award Focus Committee solicits the names of possible nominees for APA awards and submits nominations for award recipients to the Executive Board for their action. If you have suggestions for nominations send them to the chair of the APA Awards Committee, Randy Pipes. Please also convey whether you might be willing to submit a support letter for this person should they be forwarded for the award.

APSA Minority Fellows Program
The APSA Minority Fellows Program designates up to twelve stipend minority fellows in political science each year. Additional applicants who do not receive funds from the Association may also be recognized and recommended for admission and financial support to graduate programs. Fellows with stipends receive a $4,000 fellowship that is disbursed in two $2,000 payments--one at the end of their first graduate year and one at the end of their second-provided that they remain in good academic standing.

Anna Sobol Levy Fellowship
Provides future U.S. leaders considering military or government service an opportunity to learn about the relationship between the U.S. and Israel, to master regional politics, culture, and security affairs, and to study foreign languages.

Boren Scholarships & Fellowships
NSEP David L. Boren Scholarships for undergraduate students and NSEP David L. Boren Fellowships for graduate students provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. students to add an important international and language component to their educations. Boren Awards focus on geographic areas, languages, and fields of study that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad.

Carnegie Junior Fellows
A substantive one-year working experience in Washington, D.C. for graduating seniors with international affairs career aspirations.

Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program
The Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program combines a paid public policy internship with two career skills seminars and weekly policy lectures. You’ll gain real-world experience, take a crash course in market-based policy analysis, and hone your professional skills.

Charlotte W. Newcombe Dissertation Fellowship
The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation funds a major program of graduate fellowships in the humanities and social sciences. These fellowships support students in the final stages of doctoral study whose work offers significant potential for advancing academic scholarship related to ethics and/or religion. Since the first round of competition in 1981, 1,087 Newcombe Fellows have been named representing eighty-five American universities. These promising scholars' dissertations have added knowledge in their disciplines and have addressed issues of contemporary significance. History, literature, religion, philosophy and anthropology have been the most-represented fields of study.

Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs
The Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs is a full-time, nine month, graduate-level experiential leadership training program that prepares diverse, talented and committed individuals for effective and ethical leadership in the public affairs arena. Unconventional by traditional academic standards, the Fellows Program is rigorous and demanding, an unparalleled opportunity for personal and professional growth. The Fellows Program is offered in Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and St. Louis.

International Radio and Television Society Summer Fellowship
The Summer Fellowship Program, the most notable student out-reach effort of IRTS, teaches up-and-coming communicators the realities of the business world through an expense-paid fellowship, which includes practical experience and career-planning advice. Each year college juniors, seniors and graduate students are selected nationwide to participate in the nine-week Summer Fellowship Program.

Jack Kent Cooke Dissertation Fellowship Award
The Foundation has created the Cooke Dissertation Fellowship to focus more scholarly attention on high-achieving, low-income students to better understand their educational pathways and experiences and enable parents, policymakers, and practitioners to better support such students in achieving their full potential. Dissertation fellowships are available for advanced doctoral students and are intended to support the student for work done after the student’s dissertation proposal has been accepted. Applications are encouraged from a variety of disciplines such as, but not limited to, education, sociology, economics, psychology, statistics, and psychometrics. The fellowship is a one-time award of $25,000, which may be used for a period of not less than nine months and up to 18 months.

Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Arts Award
Provides scholarships worth up to $50,000 per year to help students earn a graduate degree in the performing arts, visual arts, and creative writing.

The Kathryn Davis Fellowships for Peace
100 Davis Fellowships are offered to cover the full cost of summer language study from beginner to graduate levels in Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, Portuguese, and Russian at the Middlebury College Language Schools. Fellowship grants cover the full comprehensive fee (tuition, room, and board) at the Middlebury summer Language Schools.  The Davis Fellowships are merit-based and intended for exceptionally qualified individuals with demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas: international, global, or area studies; international politics and economics; peace and security studies; and/or conflict resolution. Individuals in other fields, including working professionals, are also encouraged to apply if their field of expertise requires them to study one of the critical languages listed above. 

KSTF Teaching Fellowships
For physical science, math or engineering undergrads going on to teach 9-12 grade science or math.

Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics
The Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest is an annual competition designed to challenge college students to analyze the urgent ethical issues confronting them in today's complex world. PI must be a licensed registered nurse who has obtained at least one nursing degree.

The Villers Fellowship for Health Care Justice
The Fellowship is based in the Families USA office in Washington, D.C. and is designed to provide the Fellow with a national perspective on health care justice work and the opportunity to learn about a range of health care justice issues. The Fellow’s principal responsibilities include conducting primary and secondary research on a range of health care issues and health reform topics—such as Medicaid, Medicare, the state Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and the private insurance market—as well as writing and contributing to publications that are relevant to current health reform issues. The fellowship will last one year, from August 2011 through July 2012, and Fellows will receive a compensatory package that includes an annual salary of approximately $38,000 and excellent health care benefits. The Wellstone Fellowship for Social Justice

The fellowship is a one-time award of $25,000, which may be used for a period of not less than nine months and up to 18 months.

The Leonore Annenberg Teaching Fellowship
The Leonore Annenberg Teaching Fellowship, the equivalent of a national “Rhodes Scholarship” for teaching, is one of three new Fellowships launched by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation to address fundamental challenges to improving the teacher workforce. Through the Fellowships, the Woodrow Wilson Foundation seeks to improve the rigor of new teacher selection; demonstrate what effective teacher preparation and retention looks like, particularly in high-need schools; and raise the prestige of the profession. The Fellowship provides a $30,000 stipend to exceptionally able candidates to complete a yearlong master’s program at one of four of the nation’s top teacher education programs—Stanford University, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Virginia, and the University of Washington. In exchange, the candidates must agree to teach for three years in high-need secondary schools.

Madison
For those who are interested in teaching American history, American government, or social studies at the secondary school level to investigate this fellowship opportunity. In addition to the financial assistance for a master's degree program, Fellows have the unique opportunity to attend a summer institute to strengthen their knowledge of the origins and development of American constitutional government.

NYC Urban Fellows Program
Seniors considering work in government, urban affairs, justice, etc. Experience and prestige working for the city of New York. Following graduation, fellows must commit to a full academic year; direct experience in almost all areas of city government and a $25,000 stipend.

Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship
Must apply in sophomore year to qualify for undergraduate fellowship that provides funding for junior and senior years as well as the first year of graduate study. Juniors and Seniors can apply for the graduate fellowships, designed for students entering a two year master’s degree program.

Rotary World Peace Fellowship
Supports students during a master’s degree in international relations, public administration, sustainable development, peace studies, conflict resolution, or a related field, or a professional development certificate in peace and conflict resolution at one of their eight cooperating universities.

Truman
Provides aid for seniors and graduate students committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in the public service.  Apply for the Truman in the Fall of Junior year.

United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation’s Institute for International Public Policy Fellowship Program
The IIPP Fellowship Program provides students from underrepresented minority groups with education and training experiences critical to entry and advancement in international affairs careers. IIPP is a comprehensive program of summer policy institutes, study abroad, intensive language training, internships, graduate study, and student services that include mentoring and career development. Additionally, IIPP provides students with the education and training necessary to successfully enter, advance, and provide leadership in international affairs careers.

Woodrow Wilson's Indiana Fellowship
Woodrow Wilson’s Indiana Fellowship offers rigorous teaching preparation, extensive clinical experience, and ongoing mentoring, as well as a $30,000 stipend. These new Woodrow Wilson Fellows will be STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) scholars and experts—outstanding college juniors and seniors majoring in these fields, recent college graduates, and second-career professionals—interested in teaching in high-need secondary schools.
