E-Mail Message From Matthew Pender

I am responding to "alumni info. request".

Things are going well, I am employed as a research tech. I work for the Wofsy group here at Harvard. The primary goal of the research that I am involved in is to gain a better understanding of the carbon flux in forested areas. We currently have two sites; one in Petersham, MA and the other just outside of Thompson, Manitoba and are devoloping/building a third instrument package for a (actual locale is yet to be determined, to be somewhere in the Amazon Basin) site in Brazil. My responsibilities are to maintain and upgrade these automated sites and to reduce the data aquired from them. Of course this is just a snippet of what all I (and the other tech. here) do here.

I would like to add that I am forever indebted to the Glacier Research Group for providing me with the skills I know employ on a daily basis. I am also thankful for the better understanding of chemistry - and how to apply it - that I acquired through Jo Laird's courses (Mineralogy and Optical Mineralogy). Thanks for all the fun too.
