After Graduating from UNH, I spent 6 years at Arizona State University getting a Ph.D. in Geology (metamorphic petrology with Dr. Simon Peacock). From 1991 to 1993 I did a post-doc at Univ. of Michigan (Spent 2 months in Antarctica collecting samples for U-Pb dating at Michigan Isotope Laboratory). From 1993 to 1996 I worked in the groundwater consulting industry, both in Boston and back out in Phoenix. At the end of 1996, I was recruited by the Perrier Group of America (PGA) to manage their spring water resources in California and Arizona, and that is where I am today. PGA has about 11 brand name spring water companies, including Poland Spring (look on a bottle of Poland Spring Water and you'll see "Great Spring Waters of America", that is the name of the financial holding company for PGA's brands). Out west, we have Arrowhead, Calistoga, Ice Mountain, and Oasis Mountain Spring Waters. Reader's Digest version of what I do... I am in charge of maintaining our existing spring water resources as well as exploring for and developing new sources. It's alot better that the environmental business I was in , plus it's a growing industry (bottled water sales grew at 10% last year). PGA is the biggest bottled water company (almost 3 times bigger than our nearest competitor). I've been here almost a year and a half and haven't regretted a minute of it. Plus, PGA is the first company I've worked for that truly values both my educational and experiencial backgrounds.
