Costing Summaries
Completed Projects
Current Projects
The purpose of the costing summaries program at the NE-WTTAC is
to assemble costing information for water treatment technologies
recently developed and utilized by small systems. Costing information
is acquired from existing facilities and includes both construction,
and operation and maintenance costs. Costing analysis and comparison
often serves as the main factor in selecting a treatment technology.
These summaries are intended for use by consulting engineers and
community decision makers in the technology selection process.
Completed Costing Summaries
Costing summaries for slow sand filtration
and ceramic media pressure filtration were completed by Alix
Montel an exchange student at UNH from the Ecole Centrale de
Nantes. These summaries include information from 20 slow sand
filtration facilities, 15 of which were built in the 1990s,
and 5 ceramic media facilities all located in New England and
built in the 1990s. These costing summaries were presented at
the 2002 American Water Works Annual Conference in New Orleans,
LA. View the conference presentation here
