At the 2005 American Water Works Association Awards, Vasiliki Partinoudi took 1st place Academic Achievement Award for Best Master's thesis, "Riverbank Filtration as a Viable Pretreatment and Treatment Method." Her advisor is Prof. M. Robin Collins. Nicola Ballester took 2nd place Academic Achievement Award for Best Master's thesis, "Effects of Synergistic Disinfection on Adenovirus Inactivation." Her advisor is Prof. James P. Malley, Jr. The awards ceremony took place in San Francisco, CA.
