Monday, February 14 - Friday, February 18: Declare a Major in the English Department 
Are you interested in declaring one of the majors offered by the English Department? Visit us during Major Declaration Week: Monday, February 14 - Friday, February 18, 2011.
Have you met the pre-requisites to declare?
If you are declaring English, English Literature, or English Teaching you must be enrolled in ENGL 419 this semester or have already completed it with a grade of 'C' or better.
If you are declaring English/Journalism, you must have already completed ENGL 501 with a grade of 'B' or better.
You must have sophomore standing or higher to declare any of the majors we offer.
What if I don't meet the stated pre-requisites to declare?
We will hold another Major Declaration Week at the start of the fall 2011 semester. You are welcome to contact us about declaring at that time.
I've met the pre-requisites and I'm ready to formally declare my major. What do I do?
During Declaration Week bring your academic advising file to the English Department main office in Hamilton Smith Hall, room 113. Once you arrive we'll assist you with filling out a Change of Program form. Make sure you sign up for one of the orientation meetings we're offering and leave your file with us. At the orientation meeting you'll receive your ENGL faculty advisor assignment.
