- Transforming Earth System Science Education (NSF Geo Teach Program, 2006-2008, $3 million). Focused on undergraduate teacher preparation program in Earth Science and in service professional development programs for middle and high school teachers. This project is a partnership between among 2 TWI’s (UNH, Penn State) and 2 HBCU’s (Dillard University, and Elizabeth City State University (ECSU). (PI - Karen Graham).
- Watershed Watch (NSF STEP program, 2005-2009, $1 million). The overall goal is to increase STEM recruitment rates at UNH and ECSU, particularly among under-represented groups, by involving them at an early academic stage in exciting, hands-on authentic, research focused on scientific problems of societal relevance. This project is a partnership involving UNH, ECSU and the NH Community Technical College in Stratham. (PI – Barry Rock).
- Promoting Research to Benefit Education (PROBE). (NSF, 2004-2006, $1.9 million). PROBE is a partnership between UNH and nine New Hampshire school districts focused on the development and implementation of inquiry-based instructional practices in high school science teaching. (PI - Karen Graham).
- GLOBE Carbon Cycle: Investigating the Carbon Cycle in Terrestrial Ecosystems (NSF Globe Program, 2006-2009). Develop educational activities based on North American Carbon Program research for students at the K-12 levels. (PI-Scott Ollinger Funded)
