- Engaged in a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) funded project, Digital Earth Watch (DEW) that is developing activities and investigations for students and citizen scientists to learn about their environment.
- Interested in the Northeast Regional Phenology Network, an organization that is facilitating the collection of phenological events data locally and across the Northeast USA to support climate change studies.
- Proposes to use DEW tools as a starting point for designing and testing a set of protocols for monitoring the phenology of mayflies as part of the New England Regional Phenology Network. Mayflies are aquatic insects that are indicators of water quality, are important food for fish, and may be sensitive to climate change.
