- Integrating ecology, epidemiology, population genetics, and genomics to develop a broader understanding of fungal pathogen diversity and their spread over space and time
- Engaging graduate and undergraduate student in hypothesis-driven research focused on all aspects of fungal biology including taxonomy, ecology, epidemiology, genetics, disease, and bioremediation
- Developing courses that introduce undergraduate majors in biological sciences as well as non-majors to the impact of fungi on human civilization, as well as advanced courses for undergraduate and graduate students which cover cutting edges discoveries in the area of fungal ecology, genomics, and evolution
